Fortnightly Progress

Deliverable 1: Fortnightly Presentations and Team Updates

Throughout the placement, I prepared and delivered regular fortnightly progress updates to the BioSpine team. These informal presentations were a valuable way to share ideas, receive feedback, and ensure alignment with the clinical and technical direction of the broader project. Each update included progress summaries, sketches, and test results from the prior two weeks. They also gave me the chance to discuss specific challenges I was encountering and get input from the mechatronics engineer, clinicians, and my supervising designer.

This collaborative and conversational format helped maintain momentum but also allowed the project to stay flexible and responsive. Over the course of the internship, these sessions became a keyway to develop the ergometer’s design iteratively and to ensure the prototype would serve real-world needs and constraints.
